Owner and head trainer, Gloria Reynolds, is a lawyer by training who spent almost thirty years in banking and community development - her "day job" as she called it. In 1981 Gloria took her Golden Retriever Boo to obedience school - this launched her second career! Training Boo kindled a love of dog training. In the years since, Gloria and her Goldens have earned multiple titles in field, obedience and breed.
Over the last 28 years, Gloria has taught obedience to thousands of dogs of all types, ages, sizes and temperaments. She has trained as a volunteer for obedience and hunting retriever clubs and professionally as an instructor with a local obedience school. She enjoys working with individual owners and their dogs in a home setting or through her Board & Train program. Equally, she enjoys teaching classes - she takes pride in watching the terrific progress dedicated owner-handlers can make with their dogs over the six week class period when given proper instruction.
Gloria's husband, Joe Reynolds, specializes in working with the retrieving breeds. In fact, Gloria and Joe met in a field while training their dogs to hunt. Both agree that every good hunting retriever and companion dog began their training with basic obedience.
Joe's love for dogs began as a child with the family Labrador. Over the years he has trained several of his own hunting retrievers. Amongst them was his special chocolate lab Emma, the only deaf dog to ever receive the United Kennel Club's Hunting Retriever Champion title.
Masters Obedience Training is the home of 'Expectation Training'* which uses sound, time-tested methods to help owners and their dogs become the best of companions by taking the trial and error out of learning. We offer both private training and group classes!
